Important Parent Resident Visa Category Points-
-The Parent Resident Visa restarts on 12 October 2022.
- INZ resumes selecting Existing expressions of interest (EOIs) on 14 November 2022 and will continue to select them every 3 months after that.
- Existing EOIs will be selected in the date order INZ received them. INZ begin selecting them on 14 November 2022 and continue to select them every 3 months after that. INZ estimates this will take 3 or 4 years to complete.
- You may withdraw or update your existing EOI, If you withdraw it you can request a fee refund. INZ will contact you and give you the opportunity to update or withdraw it. If you do not get an email from INZ, you may need to update your contact details using the process to update your EOI.
- Any New EOIs INZ receives from 12 October 2022 will go into a ballot. The first random selection from the ballot is in August 2023, then every 3 months after that.
- 500 visas will be available each year for EOIs selected by ballot.
- The number of visas available each year will be 2500.
- From May 2023, EOIs can be submitted online on the Immigration New Zealand website.
Sponsor Income Requirements:
Single sponsor Income-
1.5 times median wage for 1 parent 2 times median wage for 2 parents
Two sponsors Income ( Husband & wife for example) -
2 times median wage for 1 parent 2.5 times median wage for 2 parents
Income period- Any 2 of the last 3 years from the receipt of ITA after EOI selection.
EOIs that have not been selected from the ballot expire after 2 years. This means there is no rush to submit an EOI now. If you submit it closer to the ballot selection in August you can maximise the amount of time it stays in the ballot before expiring.
